Weather in the United Kingdom

The climate of the UK varies with seasons. It is relatively warmer in summer, with the temperature ranging from 14-50°C between June and August. Winter comes in December and lasts till February when temperature can plunge to 1 – 5°C. There is a slight difference in the climate between England and Scotland as it is moderately warmer in the South East (near London) and South West England and much colder in the north and Scotland.

Weather fluctuates much over the year. Hence, it is necessary to take the appropriate clothing. Students might need something for winter and summer (in case temperature has a sudden drop or rise) and must keep a thick jacket, a raincoat or an umbrella. Time Zone in UK

The summer time zone of the United Kingdom starts from the last Sunday of March midnight (00:00), with the clock adjusted one hour forward to 01:00. It ends at 1a.m. of the last Sunday in October when the clock will be adjusted one hour backward to 00:00. Hence, UK is 8 hours slower than Hong Kong and Beijing in winter and 7 hours slower than Hong Kong and Beijing in summer.
