Coaches and buses If you would like to travel around New Zealand, rather than the expensive air options, you can take the more economic transportation which are coaches and buses.
In Auckland there is transportation runs along the major sightseeing spots. The tourists can pay a certain amount of fees and they can have unlimited travel.
Rails There are suburban passenger train services in Auckland and Wellington. Children fares are available to children aged between 5 and 15 years old and full-time students aged between 16 and 19 years old.
There are also four long-distance passenger rails in New Zealand. They are the Overlander between Auckland and Wellington, the Capital Connection between Wellington and Palmerston North, the TranzCostal between Picton and Christchurch, and the TranzAlpine between Christchurch and Greymouth.
Most of the public phones only accept calling cards and they can be purchased from the newspaper stand. These callings cards values start from NZ$2. Some public phones also accept credit card but they rarely accept coins.
